THE CYCLE SERIES TRAINER

The Tactical Trading Cycle Series Trainer page is intended to assist you in understanding the fundamental component of the system, known as the “Cycle Series.” You can access the Trainer by clicking here.

Make use of the Cycle Series Trainer to familiarize yourself with the different ways of combining numbers in a cycle series, and the advantages or potential drawbacks associated with specific combinations.

Throughout your experience with Tactical Trading, you will encounter the Default Series consisting of 1, 2, 3, 4. It is recommended to utilize this series when learning and initially trading with the system. Historically, it has proven to be the most manageable cycle series. It minimizes share count, keeps cycle length within reasonable limits, allows for swift cycle conclusion, and the compounding of profits at a higher rate compared to a cycle series with seven or eight numbers.

You can view a walkthrough of the demo page here, or a full video tutorial is available here (Coming Soon).

Steps to using the Cycle Trainer:

  1. Choose a number series and enter the digits, one number at at time. For starters, just click the button labeled “Default 1234”.
  2. Enter a shares per series multiplier. This will generally be 100 so click the “SPS 100” button. Feel free to experiment with large and small shares per series. Note: the shares per series number must be a whole number. The system will not accept a shares per series number with a decimal place.
  3. Confirm the cycle by clicking “Confirm Cycle”. Review the system parameters as entered and either continue or make adjustements and confirm again.
  4. Choose a run method. They are as follows:
    * Standard (Random Win Loss) – this will generate a random win or loss each time the Action Button is clicked.

    * Standard Auto (Random Win Loss) – this selection will automatically generate random numbers and run until the cycle has completed.

    * Alternating Win Loss – when selected this option will begin with a random win or loss, then alternate between win or loss at each “Action” click. The intent is to demonstrate that the predertimed profit will be produced even if the cycle starts and finishes at the same price.

    * Alternating Win Loss Auto – same as above but will run automatically until the cycle completes.

    * Manual Win Loss – use this option to manually select a win or loss. Useful for learning the ramifications of multiple losses, or wins, in a row.

    * String Cycles- this engages the ability to string multiple cycles together. When activated the Trainer will complete at the end of six consecutive cycles. When live trading there is no limit to the number of you can string together. See the documentation for information about stringing cycles.
  5. Click “Start Cycle”. In all modes, except Manual, the only available button is “Action” which will start the cycle. In the Manual Win Loss Mode the Action button is disabled and both a “Win” button and a “Loss button will appear.
  6. Click the “Action” or “Win”/”Loss” buttons – continue until the cycle is completed.

As you work through a cycle you will see updates as to next win series, next loss series, units bet, etc. The table below that data will hold each action as it occurs. You can review the series numbers, bet size and most importantly the current and ending value of the cycle.

It is vitally important that you understand the mechanics of the cycle series and how the cancellation system works. Another part of the training is learning the warning signs that the cycle may be going against you. Therefore three indicator heatmaps are found in the right column which monitor Consecutive Losses, Number of Wins to finish and the current bet size versus Max Win Amount. These warnings are important for the following reasons:

  • Consecutive Losses – controlling the number of losses in a row helps keep the cycle series manageable. The longer the series gets the more win actions are necessary to complete the cycle. Also if the cycle gets too long, the natural extension and compression of the series can lead to rather large numbers. In the Cycle Trainer try using the manual trade method and trigger four or five losses in a row, then alternate win/loss until the cycle finishes. You will notice the middle numbers of the series getting uncomfortably large.

Historically it has proven wise to limit the number of consecutive losses to three. After the third loss either put the cycle on hold or close out the cycle (effectively the same as a stop loss).

  • Number of Wins to Finish – This metric is important to the success of the cancellation system when trading. If this number becomes greater then three or four the cycle series comes under pressure. If the required consecutive wins are four, that could equal an upmove in the stock of 15 or 20%. Often that’s asking a lot.

Another strategy for this metric comes into play when a cycle is nearing it’s end. Recall that if the system has a win the two end numbers of the series are removed. If the current cycle series is 2,3,4,5 then we know the cycle will finish in two wins, the first win removes the 2 and 5, and the second win removes the 3 and 4.

Now, if the current cycle series is 2,3,4 we know it will also require two wins to finish. Suppose you are being cautious and are not sure you want to make another loss action because it will add a number to the series. So 2,3,4 becomes 2,3,4,6. Still two wins from finishing so you decide that adding a number is OK.

  • Bet Size vs Max Win Amount – The Cycle Profit is fixed so it is prudent to watch this ratio. If the expected profit is $1000 and the next loss bet is $3000 that may not be a sensible action. In the Trainer this mimics the Maximum Investment when trading. Its up to you to decide if the next bet makes financial sense, and if not put the cycle on hold and wait for the next win to reduce the series numbers.

You will see tha ability to automate these in the Trainer at step 4.

Using the Trainer to play roulette:
An interesting way to learn how the cycle series works is to use it to play the casino game of roulette. As you know Tactical Trading is a mathematical solution to a two occurance random walk. In the stock market the random walk is price moving Up or Down. In roulette the random walk is Red or Black and also Odd or Even.

In the Trainer start a MANUAL cycle. Decide on your cycle series, the system will sum the two end numbers to get your initial bet. 1,2,3,4 gives an initial bet of “5”. Multiply your online casino chip denomination by the number to get the total bet. The Trainer can do this for you by entering your chip denomination as the Shares Per Series (SPS) number.

Choose an online play money casino and start a game of roulette. Say you decide to bet on red or black. It is advisable to choose a color and stay with it to take full advantage of the randomness throughout a cycle. If the wheel has zero and double zero these are considered a loss if hit.

If you win, click “WIN” in the demo, or if you lose click “LOSS”. The demo will calculate the next bet until the cycle is completed.

This is a fun way to learn how cycles work.
