WORKFLOW – RESEARCH, TRADING AND MONITORING

The Tactical Trading app is designed to walk you through the steps of researching, construction of the cycle and monitoring results over time. The recommended order of workflow is:

  • Stock Screening
  • Initial Stock Selection
  • Volatility Analysis
  • Simulation
  • Trade Range Optimizer
  • Cycle Setup
  • Trade
  • Dashboard
  • Cycle Review

Your first step is to find stocks to trade in the system. Assuming you already have a stock selection method, fundamental or technical, you likely have a list of stocks for consideration.

Example criteria are strong fundamentals and favorable technical analysis indicators. Tactical Trading won’t save you from poor stock picking.

Once you have a stock, or several, that you are considering your first task is Research>Volatility. There you can view various charts and metrics of your stocks which will help you decide if your stock has what it takes to be in the system.

The next stop is Research>Simulation>System Simulation. Assuming you have a stock that has passed the Volatility page this is where you can run the system through historical data and check potential profitablilty.

Then you move onto Research>Simulation>Trade Range Optimizer. The Trade Range is the price distance up or down the stock needs to move to trigger an action. This page will run multiple cycles at multiple Trade Ranges and present historical cycle profitability per Trade Range.

Now you likely have a stock to trade in the system. You have done the research and found a stock with solid fundamentals and optomistic technicals. Tactical Trading research has provide you with an optimal Cycle Series, a profitable Trade Range and a manageable Shares Per Series. Time to set up the cycle.

Putting your stock into a Cycle is done at Trading>Cycle Setup. There you will setup the basic cycle parameters as well as elect to String Cycles and to turn on Auto Trade Range. This stage is guided to make it as easy as possible.

Once you have confirmed the new cycle it is moved to Trading>Cycle Summary. You will find it there under Pending Cycles. This cycle is parked there until you activate it. You can create multiple cycles but they stay in pending status until activated.

At Trading>Cycle Summary you will find all Pending, Active and Completed cycles. In the Pending Cycle table you can choose to Activate or Delete your new cycle. Once Activated the cycle moves to the Active Cycle Table ready for trading.

From the Active Cycles table click the Trade button in the cycle row you wish to begin trading. This will open the Trade page with the selected cycle loaded for getting the first trade.

Monitoring is available either in the Trade Page or the Dashboard.

You have now setup your new cycle for trading and monitoring.
