THE CYCLE SERIES: The Engine That Drives The System

The “Cycle Series”, or the number series chosen to be used in the mathematical algorithm, is the back bone to the Tactical Trading System.

While the system will accept any series of numbers you desire, there are some common sense rules to creating the series:

  • The number series works best if it is sequential. For example a series of 1,3,2,5 can lead to unusually large share amounts being held. It is best to use a sequence such as 1, 2, 3 or 3, 4, 5, 6. A series of 1, 1, 1, 1 will work. Start by using the cycle trainer to try different number combinations and see your results.
  • Do not use negative numbers or zero. Decimals are also not allowed, e.g.: 1.5, 2.3, 3.7. This will lead to unfillable orders, even if your broker allows fractional shares. You are better off managing the share count with the “Shares Per Series” number.
  • It is not advisable to use two digit numbers in the series, such as 10, 20, 30. This will lead to extremely large share count in a very short time.
  • History has shown that a series of 1, 2 ,3, 4 usually keeps the cycle manageable, and can also conclude the cycle quickly. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is also reasonable but can lead to a longer than desired duration of the cycle. You will find that the default series throughout the app is 1, 2, 3, 4. Its been proven to be the most profitable and less prone to growing share count too quickly.

Your best tool when starting out is the “Cycle Series Trainer”. You can find the link in the menu under Learn>Cycle Series Trainer. Spend a lot of time there testing various number series for profitability. Pay attention to max bet and longest series data.

The Cycle Series is just one component of building a cycle, it is arguably the most important as it determines the basis for the cycle profit, the duration of the cycle and the potential maximum investment.
